Situated on Shawnigan Lake between Victoria and Nanaimo, this camp of the United Church of Canada serves the camping needs of the Vancouver Island communities. Several of its key buildings were no longer considered adequate to meet the present-day requirements for the summer camping program, and following an initial feasibility study, the decision was made to replace them. The new buildings will also expand the potential use of the facilities to additional user groups throughout the rest of the year.
The construction work will begin during the Fall of 2009 over a condensed time frame to avoid interruption of the summer camping program.
