Inserted as an infill below an under-utilized portion of the 1960’s Buchanan building on the University of British Columbia campus, this project provided much-needed social meeting space and offices for the university arts student organization. The transparency of the building was maintained by wrapping the whole program space within a glass enclosure, maintaining the views from the courtyard. References were made to the early modernist features of the principle building in terms of the materials and detailing.
The project was completed under the predecessor firm, Marceau Evans Johnson Architects.
